The Aussie Guide is written and maintained by a small editorial team rather than a single named author, because keeping this site accurate is an ongoing job — laws, visa conditions, and pay rates change throughout the year, and articles get revisited, not just published once and left alone.
How We Work
Every article goes through the same process before it’s published:
- Research against official sources first. We start with the Fair Work Ombudsman (fairwork.gov.au), the Australian Taxation Office (ato.gov.au), the Department of Home Affairs (homeaffairs.gov.au), and Services Australia (servicesaustralia.gov.au) — not secondary blogs or compliance-industry marketing content.
- Cross-check numeric claims. Pay rates, tax thresholds, visa conditions, and deadlines are checked against at least two independent sources before they’re published.
- Flag genuine ambiguity. When official sources conflict, or a rule is genuinely unclear, we say so in the article instead of presenting a guess as settled fact.
- Revisit when the law changes. Australian employment, tax, and visa rules change regularly. When we’re notified of an error, or the underlying rule changes, we update the article and don’t just leave it stale.
What We’re Not
We’re an independent publisher, not a government body, a registered migration agency, a law firm, or a financial advisory service. Nothing on this site is personalised legal, tax, financial, or migration advice — see our Disclaimer for the full detail. For your specific situation, we always point toward the relevant official source or a registered professional (migration agent, tax agent, or lawyer) rather than trying to be a substitute for one.
Corrections
